Purposeful Prenups: The Importance of the Team
With Emily Bouchard, Kerri Kimball, & Andrea Vacc

This program will focus on the importance of collaboration among professionals that help couples craft prenuptial agreements that address their emotional and financial needs and can bring them together in a purposeful way, rather than push them against each other as adversaries. The details of a real case (with identifying facts changed) will be presented by the financial advisor, the attorney mediator and the money coach who worked closely with the subject couple, and with each other, to craft a purposeful prenup that has served to strengthen the couple’s marriage.

Emily Bouchard is a family, wealth, and money coach.  She is the managing partner of Wealth Legacy Group, where they specialize in the emotional impact of wealth in people’s lives. She is also the “Family Transitions” faculty member of the Exit Planning Institute, training advisors on family dynamics in family business transitions.
Considered a leading expert in stepfamily issues, Emily has appeared on the Today Show and CNN, and has been featured in publications such as Wall Street Journal, NYTimes and Private Wealth Magazine.
Along with coaching inheritors, couples, and blended families, she consults with advisors in successfully addressing their client’s emotional needs related to financial and estate planning.  She co-authored Estate Planning for the Blended Family with attorney/consultant, Paul Hood, Jr. and Beginners Guide to Purposeful Prenups with Emily Chase Smith, Esq.

Kerri Kimball is an independent wealth advisor and CFP® professional creating customized solutions for high net worth women and their families.  She has 25 years of financial planning and advisory experience.  As Founder and Managing Partner of Apogee Wealth Advisors, she functions as her clients’ trusted advisor on all matters affecting their financial planning, investments, and insurance.
Much of Kerri’s expertise was acquired while managing the financials of Fortune 500 global advertising agencies, including Lowe Worldwide in New York City, Burson-Marsteller Public Relations in Sydney, and Young & Rubicam Advertising in San Francisco.  In 2004, she leveraged her planning acumen to launch her own financial coaching consultancy for creative professionals and small businesses.  Kerri later affiliated her practice with Strategies for Wealth in Manhattan and went on to become a founding Associate and Vice President of Element Financial Group.
In addition to being a CFP® professional, Kerri is an Investment Advisory Representative and Life and Health Insurance Agent.  She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1992 with a B.S. double major in Business Administration and in Finance.  She has contributed to a number of publications including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Advisor Magazine, and CNN Money  and to the Amazon bestseller Redefining Success:  Real Women, Real Stories, Real Inspiration.

Andrea Vacca is the founder of Vacca Law and Mediation, a law firm in Manhattan that focuses exclusively on non-adversarial divorce and family law matters.  Ms. Vacca regularly lectures, writes and blogs on the topics of collaborative law, mediation, and topics related to non-adversarial family law.

After practicing traditional litigation-focused family law for many years, Andrea’s firm now works only with clients who want to keep their divorces out of court and want their prenuptial and postnuptial agreements negotiated in a non-adversarial manner.

Andrea is the author of the chapter on Collaborative Law in the book, Onward & Upward:  A Guide For Getting Through New York Divorce & Family Law Issues.

She serves as President – Elect of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and is a board member of the New York Women’s Bar Association.
