“Navigating the Crossroads of Estate Planning and Divorce”

Do you have a client who is already or is getting divorced?  What happens to account beneficiary designations in the event of divorce?  What questions should you ask?  What estate planning adjustments should your client make and when?  Join us for some information and discussion on recent developments in the law, some typical issues that may arise, and tips for assisting clients at the crossroads of estate planning and divorce.

Beth L. Aarons, JD, MSW, offers estate planning, probate, and family law services at Aarons Law & Mediation in Newton, MA, where she established her law practice in 2001.  Her background in psychology and social work lend themselves to the often complex family dynamics of family-focused legal work.  She is committed to assisting families through out-of-court process options, such as mediation and Collaborative Law Practice.  She is currently on the Board of the Mass. Collaborative Law Council and Mass. Assn. of Guardians Ad Litem, and chairs several committees, including the Probate & Estate Dispute Resolution Group.

The ADFP Greater Boston Chapter meets on the first Thursday of every month* from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM (EST) at 301 Edgewater Dr., #200, Wakefield, MA 01880.  The main event at most meetings is a professional presentation and discussion relating to an aspect of the divorce process.  Most sessions qualify for Continuing Education credits for CFP®, CDFA™ & CPA & are ADFP Approved.  There is time before and after our presentation to 'meet & greet' other dynamic professionals, often from vastly different areas.  Bring your ideas, knowledge and lunch!

* Except July, August & October.
